Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in to Deoit using Google or GitHub authentication, we receive the following information from your authentication provider:

  • Display name — your full name as set on your Google or GitHub account
  • Email address — the email address associated with your account
  • Profile picture URL — your avatar image (if available)
  • Unique user ID — a unique identifier assigned by the authentication provider (Firebase UID)

We do not collect any additional personal information beyond what is provided by your chosen authentication provider. We do not collect browsing history, device information, IP address logs, or location data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: To verify your identity and grant you access to the Service
  • Personalization: To display your name and profile picture within the application
  • Service improvement: To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve the Service (no individual tracking)
  • Communication: To respond to your inquiries or support requests (only if you contact us first)

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.

3. Data Storage

Local Storage

Your code projects are stored locally in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly choose to export it. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Account Data

When you sign in, we associate your basic profile information (name, email, UID) with your account. Your code projects may also be associated with your account for backup purposes. We do not read, analyze, inspect, or share your code with any third party. Your code remains private to you.

4. Third-Party Services

Deoit uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google): Handles user sign-in and account management. Firebase may collect device information and IP addresses as necessary for security and fraud prevention. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
  • Firebase Firestore (Google): Stores account-related data securely in the cloud.
  • jsDelivr CDN: Serves JavaScript libraries (JSZip). jsDelivr does not log personal information.
  • Google Fonts: Serves font files. Google Fonts may log request metadata as described in Google's Fonts FAQ.

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Cookies

Deoit uses only essential cookies required for authentication via Firebase. These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use:

  • Tracking cookies
  • Analytics cookies
  • Advertising or marketing cookies
  • Social media cookies
  • Third-party tracking scripts

You can control cookie settings through your browser's preferences. However, disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption in transit: All communications are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Secure authentication: Firebase Authentication uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocols
  • Minimal data collection: We collect only the data necessary to provide the Service
  • No storage of credentials: We never store passwords or authentication tokens on our servers

However, no online service is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
  • Right to data portability: Export your project data at any time using the built-in Export or ZIP Download features
  • Right to object: Object to the processing of your personal data

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days. Your locally stored projects in localStorage are not affected by account deletion and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or using the Delete option in the file explorer.

9. Children's Privacy

Deoit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. International Data Transfers

Deoit uses Firebase services provided by Google, which may process data on servers located in various countries around the world. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through Google's compliance with international data transfer frameworks.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the updated policy on this page with an updated revision date
  • Sending an email notification (if you have signed in and provided an email address)
  • Displaying a notice within the Service

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
